UVA Packaging The First To Provide Corner-Sealed And Block Bottom Bags With Slider Zipper
New Generation 'Newton 400' On Display at Interpack Features Zip-Pak Technology
Breda, The Netherlands - Zip-Pak announces that UVA Packaging, a leading Dutch manufacturer of packaging machinery, is the first to launch vertical form/fill/seal technology that applies consumer-preferred slider zippers to corner-sealed and block bottom bags. Available worldwide, the Newton 400 is capable of producing over six different types of flexible packages. The new technology is ideal for pet food, powdered products and frozen food packages ranging from two to seven kilograms.
The Newton 400 utilizes ZIP-PAK® TD SLIDER™ technology with zippers applied across the top, "short" side of a package in the transverse, or cross-web, direction. This Zip-Pak technology makes it possible to incorporate slider zippers on stand-up packaging.
"Focus groups show that consumers view sliders as a convenient, value-added packaging feature," explained Robert Hogan, Director of Sales and Marketing at Zip-Pak. "A stand-up package with SLIDER zipper further boosts brand image as there is greater visible marketing space than on alternative lie-flat packages. This creates enhanced opportunities for point-of-sale impact."
The Newton 400 features high-quality, modular construction for maximum production flexibility. Operators can easily switch between corner-sealed, block bottom, bottom seal, pillow, air deflation and bag-in-bag packaging formats without the use of tools.

The Newton 400 also features stainless steal construction and quality components throughout. A user-friendly computerized interface and built-in modem allow for maximized efficiency and streamlined troubleshooting.

UVA's newly enhanced Netwon 400 is being introduced at Interpack 2005, April 21-27, Düsseldorf, Germany, in hall 15, booth C15. The transverse direction SLIDER and other Zip-Pak technologies are on display in hall 6, booth E90.
