Tasty Baking Appoints Executives

Tasty Baking Company (Philadelphia), has made changes to its executive management team. John Pettine, the company's current VP and CFO, has been promoted to the position of EVP. In this capacity, Pettine will, in addition to his responsibilities as CFO, coordinate Tasty Baking's legal affairs, purchasing functions and the continued implementation of the company's new computer system. Pettine, who has been with the company for 26 years, will continue to report to Carl Watts, chairman, president and CEO.

In addition, the company has implemented certain organizational changes in its sales and marketing divisions, dividing the sales and marketing into two distinct functions, namely Marketing and National Sales, and Route Sales and Food Service.

Gary Kyle has been promoted to the position of VP, marketing and national sales. Kyle will be responsible for implementing the company's national geographic market expansion, as well as marketing efforts for Tastykake products and its family of brands. Kyle joined Tastykake as director of marketing in 1986 and was promoted in 1992 to director of marketing and national Sales, where he was responsible for all sales to vending, distributors and national accounts.

Dan Nagle will continue as VP, Route and Food Service Operations where he will have overall responsibility for all route sales and the company's most recent entry into the $300 billion fresh foodservice industry through its fresh foodservice operation. Both Kyle and Nagle will report to Carl Watts.
