STN Adds Food Science Database

STN International, a fee-based online service for scientific and technical information, has enhanced its Food and Agriculture cluster to include the FROSTI database produced by the Leatherhead Food Research Association (LFRA) in the U.K.

FROSTI is a resource for published information on food science and technology worldwide. The database covers all aspects of the food industry, including ingredients and process technology, quality control, packaging, food safety, and nutrition. It contains more than 423,000 records covering the period from 1972 to the present.

Updated twice weekly, FROSTI abstracts key journals and makes them available online within two weeks of delivery. Sources include more than 500 scientific and technical journals published worldwide as well as technical reports, books, bulletins, conference papers, grey literature, and U.S., Japanese, European, PCT, and UK Patents.

STN international is jointly operated by FIZ Karlsruhe, Germany, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), Columbus OH, USA, and the Japan Science and Technology Corporation, Information Center of Science and Technology (JICST), Tokyo.
