Spice and Blends Maker Chooses QAD and HP for Enterprise Planning

Wixon Fontarome, a manufacturer of spices, seasonings, chemicals and flavors for the U.S. market, has chosen QAD's bundled solution that includes MFG/PRO enterprise resource planning software and Hewlett Packard servers. The company will implement the financials, manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain modules within MFG/PRO to increase internal efficiencies while reaching out to their external supply chain. The company also selected MFG/PRO software for its ability to satisfy immediate FDA compliance requirements while preparing for the future with a Year 2000-ready solution.

"We're a make-to-order company with a short lead time, and we needed a powerful scheduling tool that supplies the necessary business intelligence to make quick decisions," said Jim Pade, Wixon Fontarome's manager of information systems. "QAD's Year 2000-ready solution convinced us that MFG/PRO will keep us current with ongoing technological changes in our industry over the long term."

The QAD/HP package will support enterprise resource planning for its three plants and one distribution center -- all centrally located to its St. Francis, WI, headquarters.

QAD provides enterprise resource planning and extended supply chain management software for multinational and other large manufacturing companies. Ideal for distributed operations, QAD's MFG/PRO software is specifically designed for global manufacturers in the following targeted industries: automotive, consumer products, electronics, food and beverage, industrial, and medical.
