Seminars Offered for Metal Detection Requirements
Safeline Inc. is offering a new series of comprehensive training seminars on how to develop metal detection programs in accordance with ISO 9000, HACCP, TQM, and vendor certification programs. Conducted by Safeline's American Society of Quality (ASQ) certified personnel, the seminars consist of four training modules: Quality Assurance Procedures; Equipment Audit; Equipment Certification; and Equipment Training. Trainees can attend the seminars at Safeline's Tampa, FL headquarters or in-house at their own facility.
Module one, Quality Assurance Procedures, emphasizes development of an overall metal detection program including effective working practices by line operators. Recommendations and training are provided on frequency and methods of equipment testing; what to do with rejected product; record/documentation maintenance in accordance with HACCP, ISO 9000, TQM, and industry standards; and prevention of metal contamination from reaching customers.
Module two, the Equipment Audit, includes on-site inspection of metal detectors to assure the functionality of the metal detector's associated reject mechanisms, applicable conveyor belting, sensors and peripheral devices, and results in the creation of signed and dated documents citing all detector internal settings and setup parameters. Faults and non-compliances are noted in a detailed follow-up Audit Report.
Module three, Equipment Certification, assures that each metal detector meets the original manufacturer's sensitivity and reliability specifications. The individual customer audit and certification parameters can be incorporated into the certification procedure. A certificate of compliance will be issued for each machine certified.
Module four, Equipment Training, familiarizes users with the detector control panel/software and operation. Maintenance and testing procedures are covered, and instructors give technical training to maintenance personnel on the service, testing and replacement of electronic modules and power supplies. Other topics include explanation of the self-diagnostic capabilities, discussion of fault conditions, and assistance in identifying possible problems and recommendations for solutions.
