Pepperidge Farm Bloomfield, CT, Facility Wins 'Plant of the Year' Award
Bloomfield, CT - Pepperidge Farm, Incorporated announced recently that its Bloomfield, CT, bakery, located at 1414 Blue Hills Avenue, is being honored with the company's "Rudkin Award" as the Manufacturing Plant of the Year for 2006. According to cthe company sources this is the second consecutive year the plant has received this honor.
According to the company sources, the award, which is named for Pepperidge Farm Founder Margaret Rudkin, was presented by Pepperidge Farm Senior Vice President of Operations Bob Furbee to Plant Manager Mike Vallen in ceremonies at the facility. The company further adds that the other guests from Pepperidge Farm's Norwalk, Connecticut, Headquarters included Peter Reidie, Senior Vice President, General Manager, Meals & Accompaniments; Bill Livingstone, Vice President, Manufacturing; Dean Moll, Vice President, Reliability; Kim Ryan, Vice President, Human Resources; and Nan Redmond, Director, Corporate & Brand Communications.
Each year, the eight Pepperidge Farm manufacturing sites across the United States compete for the Rudkin Award. The winner is chosen based on performance in four areas: customer satisfaction, cost management, consumer satisfaction, and safe work environment. According to the company, as the Rudkin Award honoree, the plant receives a crystal trophy and celebratory luncheon. All plant employees will receive a special gift. The 265,000 square-foot plant produces a broad range of Pepperidge Farm premium bakery products including fresh breads and rolls, croutons and stuffing adds the company.
