Ohio Bread Company Gets Vitamin Rich With New Product

Klosterman Baking Company introduces new Vitamin D white bread

Cincinnati, OH - Klosterman Baking Company, a family-owned bakery headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, is excited to announce the launch of its new Calcium and Vitamin D white bread, which is set to hit stores on August 23 in the Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus and northern Kentucky markets. Klosterman Baking Company reformulated its already cholesterol free and calcium-fortified bread to address the growing health problem of Calcium and Vitamin D deficiency in children and other persons at risk for bone density deficiency.

Klosterman is set to begin using the new product, which was developed from an innovative active bakers' yeast with high levels of vitamin D. The unique yeast, called Eagle VitaD™ causes bread to rise just as a typical bakers' yeast, but also achieves maximum vitamin D levels without the high cost and additional handling constraints of using a vitamin D supplement. The revolutionary yeast, which was first introduced to Klosterman in 2009, creates bread with anywhere from 10 to 100% of the recommended daily intake per 50 gram serving.

"This new product is a great opportunity for families to merge great taste and excellent nutrition," said Chip Klosterman, President and fourth-generation owner, Klosterman Baking Company. "Bringing a naturally added source of vitamin D to our loyal Klosterman consumers is the least we could do to ensure the health and good nutrition of our consumers, old and young alike."

Klosterman's new product will include a refreshed package that will boast the added nutritional benefits. Beginning August 23, the new white bread will be found in many retailers throughout Ohio and Kentucky.
