Oetker Group Intends To Acquire KATHI
The Oetker Group intends to acquire KATHI, a manufacturer specializing in baking mixes and flours based in Halle (Saale). Corresponding contracts have already been signed.
With the planned acquisition, the Oetker Group wants to expand its presence in the market segment of baking mixes and cake specialties. Founded in 1951, the family-run company KATHI has profound know-how in these areas and is deeply rooted with its products, especially among consumers in East Germany. Both the production facility in Halle and the employees of KATHI are to be taken over by the Oetker Group. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. KATHI will continue to be managed operationally as an independent company by the previous management under the leadership of Marco Thiele.
"In light of the ongoing difficult economic conditions and a challenging market environment, we are very pleased to have found a strong partner with whom we can set up our family business in a future-proof and innovative way. We look forward to working together under the umbrella of the Oetker Group," says Marco Thiele, Managing Director of KATHI. He adds: "KATHI's business will not change, we will continue to be a reliable, high- performing, and innovative partner for our customers and our consumers. KATHI remains what it has always been: the original from Halle on the Saale river!"
"It will be a pleasure for us to welcome KATHI as a member of our group. As a family-run company, KATHI aligns perfectly with the values, goals and strategy of the family-owned company Oetker," explains Carl Oetker, Member of the Group Management of the Oetker Group
