Loma Launches Cintex Brand Sentry XR, Entry-Level X-Ray Inspection Unit For Smaller Profile Products
Carol Stream, IL - Loma Systems, Inc. unveils a new entry-level X-ray inspection unit suited for smaller products measuring a maximum of 8-inches (width) x 3-inches (height).
Now for the first time, packagers can enter the market at 50% price reduction over traditional X-ray units. This enables those with smaller product profiles to take advantage of this state-of-the-art technology at a more budget-friendly, entry-level cost.
The Sentry XR is being sold under the Cintex brand, which is being marketed in North and South America by Loma Systems.
Ideal applications for the Sentry XR include smaller profile products in high-speed applications. This includes candy bars, individual baked goods, small frozen meal components, pharmaceutical blister packs, etc.
For products that rely on aluminum foil as a packaging component, detecting contaminants via metal detectors is difficult. And for smaller companies producing products without foil as a packaging component, tight budgets have historically restricted them to the use of traditional metal detectors.
X-ray systems are unaffected by metallic packaging with the additional benefit of finding ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel; glass; stones, ceramic and cement; calcified bones; polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and Teflon fluoropolymers; natural rubber; and product or spice clumps.
The Sentry XR incorporates an innovative new, low-power X-ray source to maximize inspection capability while keeping costs to a minimum. A new electronic self-cooling system provides a solid-state design tat requires less maintenance than traditionally used oil pumps and radiator systems in a fraction of the space. Setup and calibration is dramatically reduced via Cintex's patented IDC electronics.
The unit features a conveyor length of 51-inches making it considerably more compact than most metal detectors on the market.
