Larien's Commercial Bagel Biter Plus Receives NSF Certification
Northampton, MA - Larien Products is pleased to announce that their new Commercial Bagel Biter Plus has been certified by the National Sanitary Foundation's food equipment program. NSF International is the nation's leading testing laboratory for food equipment safety.
Larien Products manufactures both commercial and consumer models of its patented bagel slicer design and markets them through separate distribution channels. Larien's new NSF Certified unit is The Commercial Bagel Biter Plus, model 5400. This manual bagel slicer uses guillotine action to slice fresh bagels safely. The base section self-centers the bagel while the pointed stainless steel blade cuts the bagel in half as the user simply pushes down. The double serrated blade features Xylan Plus, a nonstick coating supplied by Whitford Corporation. Clear view guards, made from unbreakable Lexan* resin, safely isolate fingers from the slicing action.
The freestanding base section is molded with high-impact Lexan* resin in a gloss black color and contrasts smartly with the silver gray handle. This commercial smallwares product uses only FDA approved materials for direct food contact.
The Commercial Bagel Biter Plus uniquely accepts SmartBlade Plus replacement blade cartridges to maintain its slicing performance for slice-to-order bagel slicing applications in the food service industry. The SmartBlade Plus is Larien's model number 5450 and can be ordered from distributors separately as a replacement component to replace the original blade when necessary.
This Commercial Bagel Biter Plus is for use behind the counter in restaurants, bagel bakeries and coffee shops and also by the general public in self-service breakfast buffets popular in hotels and college cafeterias. This alternative commercial model was developed by Larien Products in response to requests for a NSF Certified unit from several national restaurant chains that recognize the enhanced importance of the NSF Mark on smallwares used in foodservice operations and by increasing public awareness of food safety issues.
