Krispy Kreme Launches Nationwide Business Community Portal With Corechange's Access Framework

Key Business Applications Integrated Through Secure, Single Point of Access Portal, MyKrispyKreme

Corechange, Inc., a global provider of e-access framework software, today announced that Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE:KKD - news) has deployed a portal built on Coreport 3g that serves its nationwide business community. Krispy Kreme's corporate, company store and franchise constituents benefit from the personalized access to business-critical applications and information related to their roles. The portal, MyKrispyKreme, significantly increases efficiency company-wide and helps Krispy Kreme deliver ``Hot Doughnuts Now.''

Coreport securely connects geographically dispersed Krispy Kreme employees, stores and franchises to resources they need to do their jobs. For instance, company stores can access daily cash balances to forecast future activity and plan resources accordingly. Franchises can order supplies directly online from the distribution center. Coreport also fosters and empowers user communities within Krispy Kreme by delegating management of content and applications to individual stores and departments, greatly enhancing their productivity while saving IT administration time and costs.

According to Krispy Kreme chief information officer, Frank Hood, ``Krispy Kreme understands the importance of immediate delivery and Corechange's ability to rapidly deploy a working solution within four days truly impressed us. No other portal vendor we looked at could manage that task - most proposals had at least a 6-month implementation time. Futhermore, as Krispy Kreme grows internationally and more employees need remote access, Coreport has the scalability and wireless capabilities available to grow with us.''

Rapid integration is made possible by leveraging existing web-enabled applications that integrate easily through Coreport. At Krispy Kreme these include Lotus Notes and Hyperion Enterprise, along with enterprise resources planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) systems. Within the first week, Krispy Kreme was able to garner internal buy-in, as well as important user feedback for how to further develop the portal, and plan for a nationwide rollout that met the specifications and preferences of various Krispy Kreme constituencies.

``Krispy Kreme is at the forefront of establishing a link between traditional business and cutting-edge enterprise technology,'' said Ulf Arnetz, chairman and chief executive officer of Corechange. ``By providing everyone, from franchise owners to corporate employees, access to all the applications and information they need through Coreport's comprehensive web-enabled framework not only improves communication and efficiency, but also serves to ensure that Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. uniformly meets the high standards their customers have come to expect.''
