Krispy Kreme Doughnuts opens second San Fernando Valley location in Canoga Park
CANOGA PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2001--Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. today announced the opening of its second San Fernando Valley location, in Canoga Park.
Doughnut lovers from the West Valley lined up at the new store, located at 6841 Topanga Canyon, to get dozens of the hot, fresh Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnuts.
The new store, the twelfth in Southern California, will feature the traditional glowing ``Hot Doughnuts Now''® sign, which alerts guests that the store is making fresh, hot Original Glazed doughnuts. The customers can see the doughnuts being made right in front of their eyes. The store offers a convenient 24-hour drive-thru service daily, and counter service from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 5:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
``It seems the people of Canoga Park have been anxiously counting down the days until we open,'' said Eddie Karapetian, general manager of the Canoga Park store. ``Since construction of the store began, locals have been stopping by our location checking on our construction progress in anticipation of opening day. Krispy Kreme made its Southern California debut in January of 1999 with the opening of its La Habra store. Following that location, 11 additional stores have opened in Van Nuys, Orange, Ontario, Huntington Park, Long Beach, Gardena, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, San Diego, City of Industry and today in Canoga Park. Krispy Kreme will continue its Southern California expansion with the opening of stores in Riverside and Oxnard.
