Koch Membrane Systems Showcases Fluid Systems TFC- SR Family Of Spiral Elements, WINEFILTER-MF Cartridges And SUPER-COR XL Tubular Membranes At The Anuga FoodTec Show 2006

Wilmington, MA – Koch Membrane Systems, Inc. (KMS), a developer and manufacturer of innovative membranes and filtration systems, will showcase its FLUID SYSTEMS TFC- SR family of spiral elements, WINEFILTER-MF cartridges and SUPER-COR XL tubular membranes at the Anuga FoodTec show from April 4-7, 2006 in Cologne, Germany.

Ideally suited for dairy applications, including salt whey diafiltration and lactose demineralization, the SR elements from KMS utilize a proprietary polyamide thin-film composite membrane. These spiral wound elements are a cost-effective solution for dairy and other food processing applications with low solid density and minimal available floor space.

Specifically designed for the wine industry, the WINEFILTER-MF cartridges offer greater membrane surface area, increased productivity and improved cleanability. The new cartridges contain a recently developed hollow fiber membrane that is unmatched by conventional fibers when it comes to wine quality. In addition to the standard 5-inch diameter cartridge which has been in use for many years, KMS now offers a 6-inch diameter cartridge that provides a 60 percent increase in membrane area when compared to the 5-inch diameter WINEFILTER-MF cartridge. With the new fiber, these cartridges can now operate at sustained rates for longer periods before cleaning, resulting in higher productivity without compromising wine quality.

The new XL series in the SUPER-COR line of high performance filtration modules is designed for more compact and efficient juice clarification systems. The SUPER-COR XL features 12-foot (3.66 meters) tubes and is a 20% increase over the standard 10-foot (3.0 meters) length.

The effectiveness of this larger membrane module is a great improvement over the standard SUPER-COR tubular membranes. By utilizing the advanced SUPER-COR XL module, customers are now able to recover up to 99% of their juice with crystal clarity.
