Klöckner to distribute Houdijk Holland's infeed, loading systems in U.S.
Klöckner Hänsel Tevopharm USA (Sarasota, FL) has been appointed exclusive U.S. distributor of automatic packaging infeed and loading systems manufactured by Houdijk Holland, a specialist in cookie and cracker handling equipment.
Klöckner will demonstrate Houdijk's latest product, a new Continuous Motion Loader integrated into Klöckner's new Pack-2000 flow wrapper, at the Klöckner booth (#812 South Hall) at PMMI's Pack Expo International 2000 in Chicago, November 5-9.
"This new partnership with Houdijk for automatic infeed and loading equipment means we can now supply complete, fully integrated turnkey packaging systems for cookie, cracker and confectionery applications," says Charles C. Brown, senior vice president of Klöckner Hänsel Tevopharm USA, one of the Klöckner Packaging Machinery family of companies, which manufactures packaging machinery in Schiedam, Holland, and Hannover, Germany.
Houdijk designs systems that create and load slugs or stacks of individual cookies or crackers into packaging machinery or trays, with or without an integrated buffer.
The new servo-driven Continuous Motion Loader can handle up to 200 slugs per minute of round, square, rectangular cookies or crackers, creating stacks/slugs of up to 40 products each. The count is controlled by the checkweigher and is automatically changed during the packaging operation. Speed is controlled by the packaging machine and may be continuously adjusted. Slugs are loaded into the flightbar infeed chain of the wrapper.
