Ivex Packaging Acquires Operating Unit of Bleyer

Ivex Packaging Corp. of Lincolnshire, IL, has purchased the Wakefield, MA, operating unit of Bleyer Industries, Inc., headquartered in Valley Stream, NY. The acquired business manufactures fluted cups and pads for the baking and candy industries and has annual sales of $14 million.

Regarding the acquisition, George V. Bayly, president and CEO of Ivex said, "This transaction extends the company's strategy of adding synergistic, value-added operations to existing businesses. Combining the Wakefield business with Ivex's fluted cup business and complete line of plastic containers positions the company's Consumer Packaging Division to better serve its customers in the bakery industry."

Ivex is a vertically integrated specialty packaging company that designs and manufactures value-added plastic- and paper-based flexible packaging products for consumer and industrial packaging markets.
