H&R Adopts Worldwide Logo in North America, Opens New Sensory Laboratory
Haarmann & Reimer (Teterboro, NJ), which has been operating in North America under the trade name, H&R Florasynth, will now operate under its worldwide name and logo, Haarmann & Reimer.
"The H&R Florasynth trade name and logo were important during the past two years to demonstrate the identity and strengths of the new company, which was created by the 1997 merger of Haarmann & Reimer and Florasynth, Inc.," explains Klaus Birckenstaedt, president and CEO of Haarmann & Reimer. "With the increasingly global market environment we now live in, we want to remind our North American customers and our industry that we are a strong, creative worldwide organization. Using the international Haarmann & Reimer name and logo reinforces our global identity."
In addition to the name change, the company also has announced the completion of a state-of-the-art sensory laboratory at its newly expanded and renovated Teterboro location.
The sensory team, which will operate from the new facility, includes the following flavor professionals: Sherry Genchi, director; Stephanie Belmar, senior sensory analyst; Teresa Augurusa, sensory analyst; and Nathalie Quince, evaluation coordinator.
The new facility features eight panelist booths, each equipped for computerized data entry, as well as simultaneous computer data analysis. The company plans to use the facility to assist customers with consumer and professional sensory evaluations of flavors in specific applications.
"With our new laboratory and heightened dedication to sensory analysis, we'll be better equipped to provide our customers with a clearer understanding of how the flavors we create will impact favorably on their customers," said Raymond Rossi, president of H&R's Flavor Div. "It is this greatly expanded capability that has everyone most excited about the new facility."
