Hain Food Group Completes Natural Nutrition Acquisition

The Hain Food Group (Uniondale, NY) has completed the acquisition of privately held Natural Nutrition Group, Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of natural and organic food products sold in the U.S. under the Health Valley, Breadshop's and Casbah brands. The purchase price consisted of $70 million in cash and a five year $10 million convertible note, according to president and CEO Irwin Simon.

With the Natural Nutrition Group acquisition, the Hain Food Group now claims to be the largest natural organic food company in the U.S., with sales over $300 million. The Natural Nutrition Group branded products are made using only natural ingredients with many produced exclusively with organic materials. Product offerings include breakfast cereals and granolas, granola bars, cereal bars, cookies, crackers, and other baked goods as well as canned and instant soups and chilis.

The Hain Food Group's specialty and snack food product lines include Hollywood cooking oils, Estee sugar-free products, Weight Watchers dry and refrigerated product, Boston Better Snacks and Harry's Premium Snacks.
