The Incomex Cerex Grain Processor is a simple food processor which converts untreated grain and blended mixes of grain into a "grainslice/graincake/grainbiscuit/graincracker/grainchip" in one operation without the need for further treatment. The grain is fed through a hopper, volumetrically metered and introduced by a feedslide into the mold. The mould closes, crushing and baking the grain for a short period, after which a little opening is created to enable the expansion of the grain and thus forming the cake shape. The slide is ejected onto a conveyor, which leads the slices to the flavoring and/or packaging area.
The grain processor processes three basic grains solely or in mixtures: rice, wheat and popcorn. Extruded grain pellets may also be processed. Other material, like buckwheat, millet, rye, oats, barley, or soya can be added up to 25-30%, some grains over 50%. No extensive pre-treatment of the grain is needed, but some moisture adjustment can be beneficial for the processing of the product.
Heat-stable flavors or salt can be added before leaving the baking, although this tends to increase necessity and frequency of mold cleaning. Spraying and/or dusting after the cake is formed is advised. Seeds such as sesame, caraway or dill can be added to the grain before baking.
