White Paper: Food Safety And The Role Of Equipment Manufacturers

Like the weather, everyone seems to be talking about food safety. But unlike the weather, many people can and are doing something about food safety. In this paper we will examine some of those efforts to "do something about food safety." Understandably food safety is a topic of some depth and breadth, so we will confine our examination of the topic around the issue sanitary design of equipment that produces and packages food and the facilities where the process takes place.

Food safety is hardly a new topic. Its history is concurrent with the industrialization of the food industry. Yet, in the past decade it has achieved a new prominence in the minds of the consumer and, more recently, has grabbed the attention of the legislative and regulatory agencies in Washington.
