FOCKE & CO - General Packaging Presents Fully Automated Insertion Of Baked Products Into Plastic Trays & Baskets

After successful provision of the patented FOCKE HFP (Highly Flexible Packer) system for bagged snack products in the dry foods sector (i.e. potato chips), an optimized HFP version prepared for the baked goods industry will be debuted at the iba show in Düsseldorf.
In most large scale baked goods companies only the bagging or primary packaging is typically (semi-) automated. In addition, this secondary process of loading into distribution or logistic trays/baskets are also done manually.
As a world leader in final packaging in the Food and Consumer products areas, FOCKE & CO has addressed this need by adapting the proven case packaging technology to these specific needs of industrial scaled bakeries. Now even packed bread can be inserted into plastic baskets fully automatically as well.
1. Infeed and collating
Baked products are packed into bags.
An infeed belt feeds the bagged product to a pusher and then the bags pre-collated. A collating unit allows the required collation.
2. Filling of the Plastic Tray/Basket
In the filling station a Pick & Place unit picks the pre-collated products and packs them into plastic baskets. The product orientation in the basket is completely flexible according to the load pattern.
The plastic baskets are fed and subsequently discharged automatically.
3. Tray/basket Checkweighing
It is possible to check the filled basket for target weight and can be discharged as required. Quality control for "over" or "under" weighs is addressed manually. Then the corrected trays/baskets can be reinserted back to the transport conveyor.
Furthermore, the HFP is also available for the packaging of bread into cases or various packaging materials as well. FOCKE & CO can supply a complete system, including case erecting, the HFP, sealing system, as well as palletizing and stretch wrapping solutions to complete.
The final solution are configured correspondingly based on the needs of the user.
FCP – FOCKE Control Point allows integrated quality control
FOCKE & CO has integrated quality verification system all into one module:
Metal detecting, check weighing, verification of closure clips on the bag, and seal checking can all be combined on the FCP to completely validate the final package.
The products can be sorted and rejected accordingly.
The unit has a floor space diameter of 1.2 - 1.5 m/ < 5 feet (depending on the required quality systems needed) and performs upto 120 products/minute.
The FCP allows fast in-line quality control with a minimal footprint. Inline systems with unnecessary conveyoring lengths between are a thing of the past, saving you valuable floor space.
