Danisco is one of the world's largest producers of food ingredients offering a complete product portfolio, including a wide range of ingredients made from natural raw materials. Danisco is also a leading supplier of speciality sweeteners and ranks among the most efficient sugar producers in Europe.

Research and development
Danisco reports annual net sales of around DKK 28 billion and employs some 17,000 people in more than 40 countries. A considerable proportion of the employees are engaged in research and development of new and more consumerfriendly products for the international food industry, Today, the Group holds more than 2,000 active patents and patent applications.

History
Danisco A/S was founded in 1989 through the merger of A/S Danisco, Danish Distillers and Danish Sugar. Since then, Danisco has refocused its portfolio with the then biggest acquisition in Danish history in 1999 of Cultor, the Finnish ingredients, sweeteners and sugar group, and Sidlaw, the UK packaging producer.
