The mainstay of the blending industry is a solid shaft agitator with ribbon supports both continuously welded to a main shaft. These agitators are designed to exceed torque and twist of the drive and any deflection due to rotor and batch weight and are guaranteed not to break for the life of the mixer
There is an inner and outer ribbon mounted onto the support post providing counter-directional flow of materials. Double ribbon blenders offer 3 mixing motions of tumbling, plus inside ribbons move material toward the ends of the blender where the blender ribbons move material towards the center discharge. Listed below are some of the notable features:
- Choice of agitator style: double ribbon, paddles, or inner ribbon-outer paddle combination
- Choice of tank style: u-shaped, cylindrical, or semi-cylindrical
